About IDG
As an incubation of Intellecap and seed-funded by the Development Gateway Foundation, India Development Gateway ('IDG') is steeped in cutting edge insights into the opportunities and needs of social enterprises.

About Intellecap

Intellecap was founded to support mainstream, profitable initiatives that foster sustainable development. Through an initial focus on microfinance it has built substantial competencies and networks it now leverages across a wide range of industries, such as healthcare, education or agriculture. It helps in these sectors by offering enterprise development consultancy as well as corporate financial advisory services. It also disseminates knowledge and fosters progressive ideas in the marketplace through its incubation program, of which IDG is a part.

Intellecap consultants work daily with their clients on a one-to-one basis to alleviate these weaknesses and build on strengths. They are engaged in handholding enterprises through the crucial final stages of raising risk capital; strengthening business plans, valuing enterprises and facilitating investments. IDG has the potential to bring scale to such services by employing technology to create, distribute and connect. IDG also builds on Intellecap's experience to accomplish its mission – to increase risk capital flows to social enterprises in the underserved "missing middle".

About Development Gateway Foundation

The Development Gateway Foundation ('DGF') is an international nonprofit organization with the mission to reduce poverty and enable change in developing nations through information technology. It envisions a world in which the digital revolution serves people everywhere – creating greater opportunity through increased access to critical information; greater reliance on local capabilities; and more effective, better coordinated international aid.

To fulfill its mission, the Development Gateway Foundation has built a world wide web of portals for development information and knowledge. Its aim is to bring together people and organizations around the globe who are working to improve life in developing countries.

Thanks to the support from Development Gateway Foundation, Intellecap was able to expand on insights to build a portal that is as robust as it is supported. Its experiences have taught Intellecap that good ideas alone do not make a big impact. Too often they falter in predictable areas, such as financial acumen, strategic choices or simply raising funds to scale.
